South Carolina ETV made a film about Helen earlier this year, and it will be offered up for PBS stations across America to pick up.

This is a note from Amy Shumaker who headed up the making of the film:

Here is the information to share with Helen’s friends in other cities so they can ask their public television station to carry the program. It’s important for them to act now!!!The way this works is that the PBS station records the show from the satellite and schedules it. Most stations will be finalizing their January schedules and possibly working on Feb. now. The program will be available to the stations for broadcast until 1/30/12

INFO:

The following South Carolina ETV program featuring Helen Hill’s life and work will be offered to public television stations across the U.S. by NETA (National Educational Television Association). To see if your local station is a NETA member, please go to www.netaonline.org

Info for TV station: The NETA feed to record via satellite is scheduled on Sunday, November 25 @ 20:00 – 21:00

Helen Hill: Celebrating a Life in Film
The hour-long documentary is a loving look at the Columbia, South Carolina native and filmmaker who was tragically murdered in her New Orleans home in January 2007 by an intruder. Weaving together interviews with close friends and family members and many of her animated films, the program creates a touching snapshot of Hill and many of the pivotal moments in her life, while also offering a unique retrospective of her work.
